Born in 1983 in Hanoi , graduated from the University of Industrial Fine Arts, Tran Ngoc Anh is currently a design artist for Vietnam Television. Despite her busy work, she still devotes much of her passion to pursuing lacquer art - a traditional painting material that requires meticulousness and patience.

Each work bears the mark of the intersection between tradition and contemporary.

Tran Ngoc Anh's works stand out with their warm color palette, many overlapping layers of paint, combining traditional "lacquer" techniques and visual effects from gold leaf, creating painting spaces with inner depth. She was a student of famous painters Cong Kim Hoa and Trinh Tuan, and has won many awards for children's fine arts at home and abroad.

The collection “Freedom in the Seat” reflects a poetic worldview where people, nature and surreal images blend in a contemporary rhythm of creation.

Art researcher Vu Huy Thong commented: “Tran Ngoc Anh’s paintings are evocative, taking viewers into dreamy spaces: sometimes it’s a dreamy image of Hanoi through a child’s lens, sometimes it’s subtle metaphors from empty chairs, animals, objects... Technically, she paints in many layers, combining pink and purple blue, not showing off the yellow color but letting the yellow (leaf) appear naturally. Her brushwork is flexible, overcoming the constraints of traditional lacquer.”
