Trinh Thu Vinh and Pham Quang Huy compete at the 2025 National Shooting Championship

On the evening of September 22, at the National Center for Training of High-Level Athletes ( Hanoi ), the Vietnam Shooting Federation solemnly held the Opening Ceremony of the National Shooting Championship - Vietnam Shooting Federation Cup 2025, and at the same time awarded the first round to outstanding athletes and coaches.

The tournament took place from September 20 to October 2, gathering nearly 300 athletes from 13 delegations of 12 units, sectors and localities across the country, including: Army, People's Public Security, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Tho, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Quang Nam , Dak Lak, Dong Nai. Notably, the delegation of Mechanical - Chemical Company 13 (Factory Z113) participated as a member of the Army delegation.

This year's tournament brings together many outstanding faces who have made an international mark such as: Trinh Thu Vinh (2 times in the 2024 Olympic finals), Pham Quang Huy (2023 ASIAD gold medal), Le Thi Mong Tuyen (official ticket to the 2024 Olympics), Nguyen Thi Mai Chi (2025 Asian Championship gold medal in Kazakhstan)...

Athletes will compete in 33 events, including: Compak Sporting flying disc shooting; Trap flying disc, Skeet men's, women's, mixed team; air pistol, rapid-fire pistol, sport pistol; 3-position rifle men's, women's, mixed team; portable air rifle. A total of 34 sets of medals will be awarded (28 individual sets, 28 team sets and 5 mixed event sets).

At the end of the tournament, the Vietnam Sports and Physical Training Department will award medals to the winning individuals and teams. The Vietnam Shooting Federation will award individual awards and first, second and third place to the entire team, along with cash prizes of VND2 million (gold), VND1.5 million (silver), VND1 million (bronze) and VND2 million for breaking the national record.

Chairman of the Vietnam Shooting Federation Do Van Binh said: "With the high determination of the Federation's Board of Directors, this is the 5th consecutive time (since 2020) we have hosted the National Shooting Championship in the high-performance competition system, with socialized funding and the valuable companionship of the Vietnam National Industry and Energy Group (Petrovietnam)".

After the tournament, the delegations will continue to prepare to participate in the 47th Southeast Asian Shooting Championship (SEASA) in Thailand, with the events of pistol, rifle (October 6-15) and Trap, Skeet flying disc (October 15-31, 2025). In particular, next December, Vietnamese shooting will compete in the events of pistol, rifle, Trap, Skeet flying disc and Compak Sporting at the 33rd SEA Games also taking place in Thailand.
