At the decision announcement ceremony, Mr. Hoang Minh Son - Deputy Minister of Education and Training - said that before becoming the principal of Quy Nhon University, Mr. Doan Duc Tung held the following positions: deputy dean, then head of the faculty of engineering and technology, head of the department of facilities, and vice principal of Quy Nhon University.
"I believe that in his new position, Principal Doan Duc Tung will continue to promote his knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to build Quy Nhon University to become stronger and stronger," Mr. Son added.
Speaking at the ceremony, new Principal Doan Duc Tung expressed his deep gratitude to the leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training and the school leaders for trusting and entrusting him with the above position.
According to Mr. Tung, Quy Nhon University will continue to promote scientific research and technology transfer among lecturers, trainees and students; put scientific research activities into practice, promote digital transformation in all areas of operation to better serve the teaching and scientific research needs of staff and students.
"In the coming time, the school plans to establish a teacher training school and several other schools (business, science, engineering, etc.) to move towards establishing Quy Nhon University by 2030," said Mr. Tung.
Mr. Doan Duc Tung was born in 1975, graduated and received his engineer, master's and doctorate degrees in electrical engineering from Hanoi University of Science and Technology; did postdoctoral research in Italy and received mid-term training according to Conclusion 39 of the Politburo on leadership and management skills in New Zealand. He qualified for the title of associate professor in electrical engineering in 2019.
