The bronze medal is even more meaningful as it is the first medal of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at the 19th ASIAD.

Athlete Pham Thi Hue has participated in the ASIAD four times. In each of them, she won a medal. The athlete from Quang Binh shared her honor after finishing the competition this morning: " Although this is only a bronze medal, it is the small effort of us sisters to bring achievements to Vietnamese sports in particular and the country in general. But today, we still have a little regret when reaching the finish line ."

Meanwhile, athlete Du Thi Bong said emotionally: " This is my first medal at ASIAD and also the first medal of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at this congress. I feel very emotional but a little regretful for losing second place to the Japanese rowing team ."

At the 18th Asian Games, the rowing team won the gold medal in the women's lightweight quad sculls. However, the 19th Asian Games dropped this event. Therefore, Vietnam's lightweight athletes had to switch to the heavyweight category. Du Thi Bong said that this was a big challenge for the whole team.

" The difference in skill level in the light boat event is not as big as in the heavy boat event ," said Du Thi Bong.
