From September, the high school continuing education program applies new regulations.

Students studying the high school continuing education program will have to study 3 compulsory subjects and 4 elective subjects for a total of 35 weeks/year.

Effective from September 10, 2022, Circular 12/2022 of the Ministry of Education and Training on the Continuing Education Program for High School Level will be implemented from the 2022-2023 school year for grade 10, from the 2023-2024 school year for grade 11 and from the 2024-2025 school year for grade 12.

This Circular replaces Decision No. 50 dated November 7, 2006 of the Minister of Education and Training promulgating the Continuing Education Program at the High School level.

Accordingly, this high school level GDTX program aims to concretize the goals of the 2018 General Education Program (GEP) at the high school level for GDTX, helping learners master general knowledge, know how to effectively apply the knowledge and skills they have learned in life, and have the ability to choose a career that suits their interests and abilities.

The program includes compulsory subjects and educational activities, career-oriented elective subjects, selected study topics, and elective subjects and educational activities.

Specifically, compulsory subjects include: literature, mathematics, history (3 compulsory subjects) and 4 elective subjects from among geography, economic -legal education, physics, chemistry, biology, information technology and technology.

The difference is that in this new regulation, there are additional subjects of technology and economic-legal education. In addition, experiential activities and career guidance are compulsory educational activities. In addition, there are also elective subjects and activities including foreign languages, ethnic minority languages, and local education content.

Each school year of the continuing education program at the high school level is 35 weeks/class. There is one session per day, each session does not have more than 5 periods and each period is 45 minutes.
