Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union launched the "Green Summer" campaign

The "Green Summer" campaign takes place from May 2025 to August 2025 with the motto "Green Summer Volunteers volunteer for the community", with 50,000 soldiers participating in the campaign and 400,000 union members and youth participating in volunteer activities.

In addition to the key area of Ho Chi Minh City, the campaign also has many peak volunteer activities in Phu Quy island district ( Binh Thuan province); other provinces and cities and in the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

The campaign realizes a number of specific targets, such as: Organizing 150 volunteer teams "Accompanying the locality" with 37,000 volunteer hours to support units in residential areas to archive and digitize records, prepare headquarters to serve the organization and apparatus arrangement; maintaining 300 "Digital Education for the People" teams; organizing and connecting organizations to care for and support at least 80,000 people and teenagers in the localities...

Typical are the peak activity days such as "127th Green Sunday 2025", "Peak activity day of volunteer soldiers for juniors", peak day "Volunteers build bright - green - clean - beautiful, transparent - safe - proactive urban prevention of drugs and social evils" combined with "Volunteer Saturday" to participate in supporting administrative reform and reorganizing the apparatus.

In addition, the "Green Summer" campaign has participated in implementing 4 key projects including: Saigon River Project - My City's River Phase 3, building a youth island in Thanh An island commune, Can Gio district, donating a waterway emergency bridge to Thanh An island commune and implementing 5 solar energy lighting projects in localities.

Along with the “Green Summer” campaign, the “Green Tutor” program takes place throughout the year. The peak activity period starts from June 29. With the motto “Green Tutor - Knowledge”, “Green Tutor” continues its activities to care for students from grade 1 to grade 12 who are children of young people and workers in Ho Chi Minh City.

The program is organized by teachers and students at universities and colleges and is taught periodically on Saturdays, Sundays and weekdays according to students' needs. The program is organized at cultural accommodation areas, worker dormitories and online.

The “Green Shirt Tutors” team also grasps psychological issues, promptly advises students on mental health and disseminates appropriate electronic information pages to students.

Speaking at the ceremony, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Manh Cuong emphasized that the summer volunteer movement of the city's youth over the past three decades is not only a symbol of the city's youth's spirit of dedication, but also an opportunity for young people to demonstrate their responsibility and aspiration to devote themselves to the community. This is also an environment for young people to form and practice their ideals, contributing their youth to the implementation of local and unit tasks, thereby marking brilliant memories of their youth.
