Despite having the home advantage, the Vietnam U19 women's team let Thailand dominate the field from the very first minutes of the 2025 Southeast Asian U19 Women's Final. Meanwhile, coach Okiyama Masahiko asked his players to play solid defense in the very first minutes.

However, the defense of the U19 women's Vietnam was only stable until the 26th minute of the match before making a mistake. Thuy Linh's mistake was when she lost the ball right on her own field. Rinyaphat of the U19 women's Thailand then had a neat curling shot into the far corner to open the score of the match. This was also the only goal scored in the first half.

Right at the beginning of the second half, U19 women's Vietnam had an equalizer. Hoang Van was fouled in the penalty area and the referee awarded a penalty. Thuy Nga coolly shot even though the Thai goalkeeper guessed the right direction. Unfortunately, just a few minutes later, U19 women's Thailand had a goal back leading 2-1, also from a penalty by Kurisara.

With this high attacking formation, Vietnam U19 women's team exposed many gaps in defense. In the 67th minute, Phatcharakorn was very free after the ball bounced from the second line. Number 11 of Thailand U19 women's team easily finished at the edge of the penalty area to raise the score to 3-1.

This was also the final score of the match. Despite their best efforts, the Vietnam U19 women's team had to accept a 1-3 defeat against Thailand. Vietnam missed out on the Southeast Asian U19 women's championship after losing all four finals in history.
