Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Deputies' Affairs Committee, Permanent Deputy Chief of the Office of the National Election Council Ta Thi Yen said that the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2026. This is a major political event of great significance for the whole country and each locality to select and elect exemplary representatives who are worthy of representing the will, aspirations and mastery of the people in the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the new term, actively contributing to the building, consolidation and perfection of the socialist rule-of-law state of the people, by the people and for the people, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam .
Emphasizing the importance of the election, the Deputy Chief of the Standing Office of the National Election Council Office also stated that election preparations need to be deployed early, methodically, and in accordance with legal regulations; at the same time, it is necessary to monitor and update the preparation situation and progress of the election steps at the units.
According to Resolution No. 88/2025/UBTVQH15 of the National Assembly Standing Committee regulating the supporting apparatus of the National Election Council, the Office of the National Election Council is the supporting apparatus of the National Election Council with the task of assisting the National Election Council in organizing the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly; directing and guiding the election of deputies to People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
At the meeting, members of the National Election Council Office discussed and reported on the implementation of the following tasks: budget estimates for elections; printing documents and publications for elections; ensuring facilities for the National Election Office; information and propaganda work for elections; and information and data security for elections.
Members of the National Election Office emphasized that from now until the election day, the time is very urgent, propaganda work needs to be deployed early and methodically, in order to create unity in awareness, political ideology, action within the Party, consensus in society to successfully organize the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term with high results, ensuring democracy, equality, legality, safety, economy and truly a festival for all people; contributing to strengthening people's trust in the Party, State and the cause of national renewal.
Speaking at the end of the meeting, Deputy Chief of the Standing Office of the National Election Council Office Ta Thi Yen requested members of the National Election Council Office to urgently deploy tasks; closely coordinate to ensure smooth and timely implementation of work; and ensure human resources to carry out the tasks of the National Election Council Office.
