The keynote speakers of the Discussion Session included Belarusian Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Sergey Maslyak, Vice President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Stepan Kalmykov, Cuban Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Environment José Fidel Santana Nuñez…
Invited as a Vietnamese speaker in the discussion session, Professor, Academician Le Truong Giang, Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, affirmed that in recent years, Vietnam has paid special attention to developing science and technology, especially in the field of green industry, to meet the requirements of socio -economic development.
Notably, at the end of 2024, the General Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam signed and issued Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.
This resolution emphasizes the role of international integration, forming a global scientific ecosystem, and promoting close ties between scientists, businesses and governments to address new challenges.

Accordingly, Vietnam encourages the development of close cooperation mechanisms between researchers and businesses, promulgates new standards, forms specific testing frameworks for new technologies, and encourages the direct participation of scientists in technological innovation activities at businesses.
At the same time, Vietnam is developing concentrated testing zones where scientists and businesses can work together, along with tax incentives for businesses investing in new technology research.
Professor, Academician Le Truong Giang emphasized that the topic of this discussion is topical and has far-reaching significance. This is the common aspiration of all countries: to create a green, clean and sustainable living environment that meets the needs of all people.
To realize that vision, according to Professor, Academician Le Truong Giang, the key is to promote scientific research, accelerate technology application and build an international ecosystem to stimulate innovation and progress.
With a vision towards a green future, the Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology proposed the following two points:
First , forming international organizations to build common standards for new green technologies and products, thereby orienting sustainable development for countries.
Second , build international joint science and technology research centers, laying the foundation for a global innovation ecosystem.
Accordingly, countries can establish a joint research facility on clean energy such as fusion energy or hydrogen energy. Here, scientists, research institutes and businesses from many countries will cooperate.
Clean energy is now a vital factor for every economy, and such a joint research center will help countries benefit from research results, directly serving the socio-economic development of their countries.
Bringing together delegates from 118 partner countries, nearly 250 international speakers and a youth program attracting over 18,000 young people, the first World Nuclear Week in Moscow is one of the largest global events in the field of nuclear energy and green technology.
This is not only a place to display the latest technological achievements, but also a forum bringing together policymakers, scientists, businesses and international organizations to shape the roadmap for sustainable energy development for decades to come.
