Vinh Long approved detailed plan to rearrange departments

Kinhtedothi - On February 17, the People's Council of Vinh Long province held the 6th thematic session, term X, term 2021-2026.

Based on careful study of the documents and files presented at the meeting, delegates discussed and contributed many enthusiastic and responsible opinions with many solutions, analyzed and evaluated a number of high-quality, focused issues.

At the meeting, delegates of the People's Council of Vinh Long province passed the Resolution on reorganizing specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee. According to the resolution just passed, the People's Committee of Vinh Long province will rearrange and reorganize related departments, branches and units in a streamlined manner.

Specifically, reorganize the Department of Home Affairs based on the merger of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Department of Home Affairs. Reorganize the Department of Construction based on the merger of the Department of Transport and the Department of Construction; transfer the state management functions and tasks of testing and granting road motor vehicle driving licenses from the Department of Transport to the Provincial Police.

Reorganize the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, take over the functions, tasks, and organization of the press and publishing management apparatus from the Department of Information and Communications.

Reorganize the Department of Health, receive the functions, tasks, and organization of the state management apparatus on social protection, children, and prevention of social evils from the Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs. Reorganize the Department of Industry and Trade, receive the Market Management Department in its original state from the Ministry of Industry and Trade .

Reorganize the Department of Education and Training, receive functions, tasks, and organize the state management advisory apparatus on vocational education from the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs; receive the status quo of the Center for Vocational Education - Continuing Education from the People's Committees of districts, towns, and cities.

Reorganize the Department of Finance based on the merger of the Department of Planning and Investment and the Department of Finance. Reorganize the Department of Science and Technology based on the merger of the Department of Information and Communications and the Department of Science and Technology; transfer the functions, tasks, and organizational structure of press and publishing management from the Department of Information and Communications to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Reorganize the Department of Agriculture and Environment on the basis of merging the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, taking over the task of state management of poverty reduction from the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.

Establish the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions on the basis of the Ethnic Minorities Committee, receive the functions, tasks, and organization of the state management apparatus on religion from the Department of Home Affairs; supplement and perfect the functions and tasks of state management on ethnic minorities.
