On the evening of August 13, the final round of the group stage of the 2025 ASEAN Women's Football Championship ended. Myanmar let the Philippines tie 1-1, but 7 points were enough for them to win first place in Group B.
This result made the Philippines the former champion of the 2025 ASEAN Women's Cup tournament. In the remaining match, Australia crushed Timor Leste with a score of 9-0 to finish second in the group with 6 points.
Thus, the 2025 ASEAN Women's Cup semi-finals have determined the four representatives entering the semi-finals: the first team in Group A - Vietnam, second team in Group A - Thailand, first team in Group B - Myanmar and second team in Group B U23 Australia. Accordingly, the first semi-final will be the confrontation between Myanmar and Thailand, the second semi-final will be the confrontation between the Vietnamese women's team and U23 Australia.
The opponent of the Vietnamese women's team in this year's semi-finals is the U23 Australia team with a young and potential force. In the group stage, Australia was defeated by Myanmar with a score of 2-1 when the representative of Southeast Asia took a 2-goal lead.
In this arena, the Thai women's team is the team with the most championships with 4 times, counting from the predecessor tournament AFF Women's Championship in 2011, 2015, 2016, 2018.
Following in the tournament's achievements is the Vietnamese women's team with 3 championships in 2006, 2012 and 2019. Meanwhile, Myanmar ranked 3rd with 2 championships in 2004 and 2007.
Both semi-finals will take place on August 16. Mai Duc Chung and his team's match will take place at 8 p.m.
