Previously, the post of the pregnant woman's family accusing this clinic caused a stir in public opinion.
Accuse the clinic of negligence
A post by the recipient, the sister of pregnant woman N., recently caused a stir on social media. According to the post, pregnant woman N. was pregnant for the second time and suffered from amniotic fluid leakage and infection at 20 weeks. The entire pregnancy was monitored by Dr. T. at Pasteur Clinic and a cesarean section was scheduled at 39 weeks.
When the pregnancy was 37 weeks and 5 days, the pregnant woman had a dull abdominal pain and came to this clinic for examination. Doctor T. examined her, measured the fetal heart rate and contractions, and assigned the nurse to inform the family.
“The nurse told the family to go home and get their things and go to surgery, otherwise the baby’s limbs would be exposed, talking and laughing. So my sister went home and got her things, after about 10 minutes she fainted and was helped into a car to take her to the hospital,” the post said.
The road was long and the traffic was jammed. When they arrived at the hospital, the fetus had no heartbeat. The mother had premature placental abruption and the baby died after 15 days.
This person accused Dr. T. and the clinic nurse of missing the golden time for the mother to lose her child. The fetus had amniotic fluid leakage and infection at week 20, and the lung maturation injection required a cesarean section at week 37, but Dr. T. ordered the cesarean section at week 39...
Mr. L., the husband of pregnant woman N., confirmed that the post was from his family and the information was all true.

“We follow the right procedure”
Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung - executive director of Pasteur Clinic - affirmed that from the moment the pregnant woman arrived at the clinic, Dr. T. gave priority to examining her immediately. After checking the normal results, Dr. T. ordered the nurse to transfer the pregnant woman to the surgery according to professional procedures.
At that time, Dr. T. was examining another patient lying on the obstetrics table.
“The clinic handled the situation quickly and did not waste the mother’s golden time. The nurse conveyed the doctor’s orders to the mother and her relatives, clearly informing them that she needed to be hospitalized immediately for a cesarean section.
The nurse also helped contact the hospital to arrange an emergency surgery, and the hospital doctor confirmed that he was ready to receive the patient," said Mr. Trung.
Mr. Trung said that according to current medical evidence, there is no mandatory indication for early termination of pregnancy at 37 weeks in case of premature rupture of membranes if the mother and fetus are still stable. Termination of pregnancy in case of premature rupture of membranes depends on many other factors.
“Although we followed the correct procedure, we are very sorry for this heartbreaking incident. During the entire time the mother was hospitalized, we were kept informed through the attending physician. When the mother’s mental state was stable, we visited the family to share our grief after the loss.
I am currently working with the authorities to verify the information posted online. We also reported the incident to the Department of Health and transferred all related information to the police for clarification,” said Mr. Trung.
