RON 95 gasoline price increases, returning to over 20,000 VND/liter

The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance adjusted gasoline prices, effective from 3:00 p.m. on March 20.

E5 RON 92 gasoline has a new price of 19,690 VND/liter, an increase of 414 VND/liter compared to the current price. After adjustment, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline is 392 VND/liter lower than that of RON 95-III gasoline.

Similarly, RON 95-III gasoline has a new price of VND20,087/liter, an increase of VND438/liter.

The new price of 0.05S diesel is 17,893 VND/liter, down 5 VND/liter. Kerosene has a new price of 18,118 VND/liter, up 28 VND/liter compared to the current price; 180CST 3.5S fuel oil is adjusted to 16,955 VND/kg, down 40 VND/kg.

In this operating period, the joint ministries decided to continue not to set aside and not to use the petroleum price stabilization fund for E5 RON 92 gasoline, RON 95 gasoline, diesel oil, kerosene and fuel oil products.

According to the joint agency of the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance, the world oil market during the period from March 13 to 20 is affected by many factors with the main downward trend.

These include the decline in US petroleum product reserves, renewed tensions in the Middle East, uncertainty over US tariffs on goods from other countries, and the possible early establishment of a ceasefire in attacks on energy facilities between Russia and Ukraine.

The above factors have caused world oil prices in recent days to have a general trend of increasing and decreasing, alternating with the downward trend of previous periods.

Of which, gasoline products all tended to increase by nearly 3%, and kerosene increased slightly by 0.03%, diesel decreased by 0.20% and mazut decreased by 0.47%.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade said the time for petrol traders to adjust is at 3:00 p.m. today, March 20.

Thus, the price of gasoline has returned to increase after continuously decreasing in the previous three sessions, returning to the mark of over 20,000 VND for RON 95. However, the price of RON 95 gasoline is at its lowest level in more than 3 years. Since the beginning of the year, RON 95 gasoline has increased 6 times and decreased 6 times.

The Ministry said that in order to adjust gasoline prices, it will coordinate with relevant agencies to inspect and supervise the implementation of the responsibility of ensuring gasoline supply for the market by gasoline traders, and will strictly handle violations.
