Building the Cham Sculpture Museum worthy of being the leading specialized museum on Cham sculpture

DNO - On the morning of August 19, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi and representatives of relevant departments and agencies inspected the site and listened to reports on the implementation of investment in upgrading and renovating the Cham Sculpture Museum.

According to the Cham Sculpture Museum, the renovation and upgrading project of the Cham Sculpture Museum has a total cost of more than 11.4 billion VND with main items including: gate fence; garden landscape; heat insulation; waterproofing; toilets.

The construction period started on May 5, 2025 and is expected to end on November 1, 2025. To date, the total volume of completed work items has reached 44.75%. During the project implementation, the museum has closely coordinated with the construction unit to ensure both construction and service for visitors.

Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi praised the achievements in the work of preserving and promoting heritage values, especially the 12 national treasures of the Cham Sculpture Museum; at the same time, she requested the construction unit to supplement the construction force, establish a detailed schedule for each item, urgently speed up the progress, ensure the quality of the project; strictly comply with technical requirements as well as protect the original elements of the relic. In addition, it is necessary to strengthen the inspection, urging and timely reporting of construction progress and make recommendations for timely handling when problems arise.

Regarding the recommendations and proposals of the museum, the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Finance, the Department of Construction and related units to focus on research, consulting competent authorities to consider and decide on investment in necessary items such as digital transformation; investment in air conditioning systems, solar energy and smart camera surveillance systems; construction of special exhibition rooms; upgrading headquarters, sidewalks, parking lots, etc. In particular, research and consider purchasing insurance for valuable antiques.

The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee also requested the Cham Sculpture Museum to continue promoting the spirit of solidarity, responsibility, innovation and building development plans so that the Cham Sculpture Museum deserves to be the leading specialized museum of Cham sculpture.
