In a statement, the SAF confirmed that its forces carried out several operations in the capital Khartoum on July 13, in which several RSF combat vehicles were destroyed.

Tens of thousands of people from Sinnar state in central Sudan are fleeing to the eastern state of Gedaref, to escape the recent escalation of armed conflict between the SAF and RSF, according to local authorities.

Meanwhile, according to Mohamed Adam Mohamed, a member of the humanitarian aid committee in Gedaref state, more than 135,000 people have been displaced from Sinnar to Gedaref. The organization has set up an emergency shelter to support the refugees.

In its June situation update, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said the conflict between the SAF and RSF since mid-April 2023 has claimed the lives of at least 16,650 people.
