The Standing Committee of the National Assembly Party Committee met on amending the Constitution.

On the morning of March 24, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly Party Committee held the second meeting of the National Assembly Party Committee to give opinions on the draft Project to review, amend and supplement the Constitution and laws of the State to serve the reorganization of the political system and the draft Report on the work of perfecting institutions to serve the reorganization of the political system.

Chairing and speaking at the meeting, Comrade Tran Thanh Man, Politburo member, Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly, clearly stated the requirements: Must be cautious, objective, democratic, scientific and effective, requiring strict processes and procedures, ensuring quality, on the basis of innovation and breakthrough thinking; ensuring the participation of experts, scientists, managers and collecting public opinions.

Attending the meeting were members of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly : Nguyen Khac Dinh; Nguyen Duc Hai; Tran Quang Phuong; Nguyen Thi Thanh; Vu Hong Thanh; Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long; Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Le Quang Tung; representatives of leaders of relevant departments, ministries and branches.

Accordingly, the nature and content of the work are important, the volume of work is very large, related to the responsibilities of many agencies and organizations, associated with the policy of streamlining and reorganizing the apparatus of the political system.

Regarding the expected time, the collection of public opinions on the content of the amendments and supplements to the Constitution will take place within 1 month. The collection of opinions is expected to take place within 5 days, and these tasks are expected to be implemented in May and June.

The National Assembly Chairman also said that relevant agencies meet continuously to "ensure that the contents are mature, clear, tested and proven in practice, then they will be synthesized and reported to competent authorities."

The National Assembly Chairman acknowledged and highly appreciated the Standing Committee of the Law and Justice Committee, right after the meeting on March 17 of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly Party Committee, for chairing and coordinating to urgently study, absorb and revise the draft Project focusing on 6 groups of issues. The draft Report focused on reviewing 58 Party documents, 12 articles of the 2013 Constitution and 421 legal documents.

The draft Project includes 9 types of documents, the draft Report clearly states the proposed options and has a system of 3 appendices. The National Assembly Chairman said: Up to this point, the draft Project and the draft Report have been built very carefully and methodically.

The participation of relevant agencies and organizations demonstrates responsibility, the comments sent back are sufficient, proactive, and ensure progress. Up to now, 16 agencies and organizations have sent back comments and all agree with the basic content of the Project. With careful reception and explanation, we can initially feel more secure."

At the meeting, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly Party Committee listened to the representative of the Committee on Law and Justice briefly present the draft Project Proposal and draft Report.

Members of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly Party Committee, and representatives of Party committees, Party Committees of agencies, ministries and branches focused on giving opinions on the contents of the draft Project Proposal, draft Report and related issues.
