Bola (Indonesia) newspaper has listed coach Park Hang Seo as a candidate to lead the Indonesian team if coach Shin Tae Yong leaves.

Coach Shin Tae Yong's contract with the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) will expire at the end of this year. Recently, the two sides reached an agreement that the Korean coach will lead the team until the end of the 2023 Asian Cup in January 2024.

PSSI has been looking for a new coach to replace Shin Tae Yong. Bola has listed three potential candidates to take over the "hot seat" of the Indonesian national team. Among them, Coach Park Hang Seo is on this list.

Talking about coach Park Hang Seo, Bola newspaper commented: "Coach Park Hang Seo is no longer a strange name to Indonesian fans. It would be a surprise if he accepted to be the head coach of the Indonesian national team.

When he was still leading the Vietnamese team, Coach Park Hang Seo often brought fear to Coach Shin Tae Yong's Indonesian team. There is no doubt about Coach Park Hang Seo's quality in Southeast Asia. During his time working in Vietnam from December 2017 to January 2023, he helped this country's football rise to become a force in Southeast Asian football and approach Asian level.

He helped the Vietnamese team win the 2018 AFF Cup, reach the quarter-finals of the 2019 Asian Cup, and with the Vietnamese youth team win the runner-up position at the 2018 U23 Asian Cup, the gold medal at the 2019 and 2021 SEA Games, and reach the semi-finals of the 2018 ASIAD.

Under coach Park Hang Seo, the Vietnamese team has skyrocketed to 96th place in the world. Before his arrival, the team was only ranked 134th in the world.

Besides coach Park Hang Seo, the Indonesian sports newspaper also listed two other candidates to replace coach Shin Tae Yong, Akira Nishino and Luis Milla.

Coach Akira Nishino led the Japanese team to the round of 16 of the 2018 World Cup and then coached the Thai team. Coach Luis Milla led the Indonesian team from 2017 to 2018. He helped the Indonesian youth team reach the round of 16 of the 2018 ASIAD. He is currently working in Indonesia, coaching the Persib Badung Club.
