Hospital builds free motels for the poor

From the beginning of August 2025, the "Understanding and Love" accommodation house officially came into operation, providing free services to relatives of patients being treated at Ninh Thuan General Hospital (Khanh Hoa province).

On the morning of August 3, Ninh Thuan General Hospital ( Khanh Hoa province) held the opening ceremony and put into operation the fully equipped "Understanding and Love" accommodation house, supporting relatives of patients in difficult circumstances who are receiving long-term treatment at the hospital.

"Understanding and Love" hostel is located next to the oncology department of Ninh Thuan General Hospital. The building has an area of ^​​120m2 , arranged with 40 beds and installed with basic equipment such as: lighting, electric fans, and cabinets to store personal belongings.

The project was built by a volunteer group in collaboration with the hospital with a cost of nearly 500 million VND, thereby contributing to sharing the burden for families in difficult circumstances.

Mr. Rau Lem in Phuoc Hau commune (Khanh Hoa province) whose family member is being treated at the department of nephrology and urology shared in tears: "Thanks to this free accommodation, I don't have to lie around in the hallway every day. Every night I save tens of thousands to pay for my child's treatment. I'm so happy I can't speak" - Mr. Lem said.

Doctor Le Huy Thach - Director of Ninh Thuan General Hospital - said this is a charitable model, implemented by the hospital through socialization, contributing to taking care of the mental health of patients' relatives, who are already too tired and worried because of illness.

"The "Understanding and Loving" accommodation project will be a place to help patients' families reduce their worries and hardships so they can feel secure in taking care of patients undergoing long-term treatment, contributing to creating a humane and safe healthcare environment. In the coming time, the hospital will continue to expand charitable activities to gradually build Ninh Thuan General Hospital to achieve the goal of being a friendly, humane, and professional hospital" - Dr. Thach said.
