Provinces from Nghe An to Quang Ngai respond to heavy rain, flooding, risk of flash floods and landslides.

According to the forecast bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from the night of October 22 to October 24, in the area from Nghe An to Quang Ngai, there will be moderate to heavy rain, in which the provinces from Quang Binh to Da Nang will have rainfall ranging from 80-170mm, in some places over 250mm; Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces will have rainfall ranging from 50-100mm, in some places over 150mm. There is a risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas and flooding in low-lying areas and urban areas.

To proactively respond and minimize damage caused by heavy rain and the risk of floods, flash floods, and landslides, the Steering Committees for Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of provinces from Nghe An to Quang Ngai are requested to closely monitor forecasts and warnings of heavy rain, floods, flash floods, and landslides, and provide timely and complete information to authorities and people at all levels to proactively prevent, respond, and minimize damage.

The above provinces also deployed shock forces to inspect and review residential areas along rivers, streams, and low-lying areas to proactively organize the relocation and evacuation of people in areas at high risk of deep flooding, flash floods, and landslides; organize forces ready to control and guide traffic, especially through culverts, spillways, areas of deep flooding, and fast-flowing water; be ready to deploy measures to drain water, protect production, and prevent flooding in urban areas and industrial parks.

At the same time, inspect, review, deploy operation plans and ensure the safety of reservoirs and downstream areas, especially small hydropower reservoirs and important irrigation reservoirs; arrange permanent forces to operate and regulate and be ready to handle possible situations; organize serious on-duty shifts, regularly report to the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and the Office of the National Committee for Incident, Natural Disaster Response and Search and Rescue.
