How to experience Genmoji feature on iOS 18

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên18/06/2024

With Genmoji, iPhone users can use AI to generate new emoji characters based on text input. What makes Genmoji unique in iOS 18 is that Apple designed an API to make them work like stickers. With the new NSAdaptiveimageGlyph API, developers can easily integrate Genmoji into their apps.

To ensure the best possible user experience, Apple is redesigning the emoji keyboard to offer Unicode characters, Memoji, stickers, and Genmoji emoji. As noted in the iOS 18 developer beta, Genmoji can be used alongside regular text, and these figures can be used individually, copied, pasted, and sent as stickers. They will even respect line height and text formatting.

Basically any app that supports rich text can support Genmoji, which makes it great for blog headlines, messages, and notes. However, the company warns that it may not be suitable for use with text-only items like email addresses and phone numbers.

Genmoji images are generated based on descriptions from users.

Genmoji isn't available in iOS 18 yet, as Apple's Intelligence features won't be available until later this summer. Once that happens, you can get your hands on Genmoji by doing the following:

  • On your keyboard, open emoji.
  • Select the Genmoji card and enter a description of the image.
  • Once satisfied with what Apple creates, users can store it in their library.

Note: Genmoji is an Apple Intelligence feature, so users will need an iPhone 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max to be able to exploit it, at least until the iPhone 16 series is launched. This stems from the requirements Apple has set for the AI engine they just introduced.
