TPO – After two nights of “Anh trai say hi” performances on December 7 and 9, the grass at My Dinh Stadium was in disrepair. The Complex Management Board is actively repairing and refurbishing it to prepare in case the Vietnamese team makes it to the semi-finals of the ASEAN Cup 2024.

According to the plan, VFF has reported to AFF to choose My Dinh Stadium as the home stadium of the Vietnam team in case coach Kim Sang-sik and his team win tickets to the semi-finals and finals of the ASEAN Cup 2024. The issue has caused concern when recently, My Dinh continuously organized 2 big music shows "Anh trai say hi" on December 7 and 9.

The installation of equipment, plastic boards, etc. for music events affects the quality of the field. For this reason, in the group stage, the Vietnamese team had to choose Viet Tri Stadium ( Phu Tho ) to compete, even though the original plan was My Dinh Stadium.

According to the reporter's records, after the above music program ended, workers collected the equipment and cleaned up My Dinh Stadium. The grass was still green but withered, the field surface was quite hard, with many marks and bumps, and did not reach the required flatness, not up to standard.

The field is divided into checkerboard squares, the grass is ragged and no longer meets standards.

Some areas along the border have been left bare.

The grass is generally green but with small yellow patches.

The pitch suffered serious damage after the concert.

The cleaning staff used industrial blowers to blow away the glitter and waste paper.

The grandstand area has been cleaned up over the past few days.

Viet Tri Stadium with a capacity of 20,000 seats, only half of My Dinh Stadium, is expected to not meet the demand of fans if the Vietnamese team reaches the semi-finals. Coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will lose a large source of support from the fans.

In the coming time, the My Dinh Stadium management board will have to actively take care of and maintain the grass surface to return it to its original state. After that, the AFF Cup 2024 organizing committee will have a practical assessment to see if My Dinh Stadium is qualified to host the tournament or not.
