GD&TĐ - A discussion on the orientation of implementing education on life ideals, life values, culture and arts for high school students took place on October 2.

The program was organized by the Department of General Education ( Ministry of Education and Training ) in coordination with the Vietnam Writers Association. Speaking at the seminar, Ms. Trinh Hoai Thu - Deputy Director of the Department of General Education - emphasized: education of life skills, life values ​​and culture - arts is one of the important tasks of the education sector, contributing to the formation and comprehensive development of Vietnamese people, meeting the requirements of the nation and the trend of the times.

Over the years, the Ministry of Education and Training has always attached importance to this task, considering it a practical solution to concretize the system of Vietnamese human values ​​in the new era, while improving the quality of comprehensive education , nurturing personality, ideals and aspirations to contribute to the young generation.

The system of legal documents has created a favorable corridor for implementation. Educational content is integrated into many subjects and activities, contributing to innovation in teaching methods, enhancing the comprehensive development of morality, intelligence, physical fitness and aesthetics for students.

In recent times, the awareness of administrators, teachers and students about the role of education in life values, life skills and culture and arts has changed positively. Many localities have initially mobilized the participation of artists and artisans in educational activities, creating a ripple effect in the community.

However, this content has only stopped at the level of integration in subjects such as: Literature, History, Ethics, Civic Education, Economic and Legal Education, Experiential Activities, Local Education Programs... but has not been built into specialized, continuous and systematic topics. This makes many core values ​​not deep enough, lacking in openness and inspiration for students - especially those at the age of forming their personality and life ideals.

From practice, Mr. Nguyen Quang Thieu - Chairman of the Vietnam Writers Association - emphasized that the compilation and implementation of book series on cultural and artistic education, living beautifully following Uncle Ho's example, learning about the Communist Party... is very urgent.

Representatives of the Writers' Association proposed that the Ministry of Education and Training consider compiling the following book series: Cultural and artistic education (grades 1-12), Ideal journey - Vietnamese youth (grades 1-12), Living beautifully following Uncle Ho's example (grades 1-12).

The Ministry of Education and Training will organize appraisals and assessments, and plans to hold a national conference to discuss the urgency of implementing these contents in schools.

Previously, the Vietnam Writers Association sent a report to General Secretary To Lam proposing to include education on life values, life ideals, culture and arts in the enhanced program at general schools.

Ms. Trinh Hoai Thu said that in the coming time, the Ministry will organize the appraisal, promulgation and guidance on the use of a set of documents on life values, life ideals, culture and arts developed by the Vietnam Writers Association. The Education sector also encourages social forces to participate in compilation, at the same time develop a digital science repository, promote online activities and apply artificial intelligence in life values, culture and arts education.
