On July 8, the Standing Committee of Can Tho City Party Committee had a working session with GenAI Investment Fund (GenAI Fund) on promoting digital transformation using artificial intelligence.

Here, Ms. Laura Nguyen, CEO of GenAI Fund, proposed cooperation in 5 areas with Can Tho city including: popular digital education ("digital transformation for everyone" program, training officials and businesses on how to apply AI); incubation program (supporting local start-ups to co-invest and be ready to sponsor AI projects).

Provincial AI Digital Transformation Working Group (supporting the implementation of local AI strategies); AI Excellence Center (providing free space for AI implementation teams), and finally AI ecosystem research (coordinating research topics on innovation and AI ecosystem in Can Tho).

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Can Tho City, said that in order to serve effective state management, the city's greatest concern is administrative procedure reform.

He suggested that the Can Tho Department of Science and Technology work with GenAI Fund to place specific orders for AI applications in administrative procedure reform such as: chatbots to support consultation and answer questions; facial and signature recognition; optimize processes and appointment schedules; enhance information security; classify and manage documents...

"In particular, what the locality needs most now is to pay attention to ordering a 24/7 hotline to answer administrative procedures, for example, when accessing, you will immediately know what judicial procedures such as birth certificates, marriage registration, etc. are.

These are essential products. Even receiving information, suggestions and feedback from people can be classified through AI technology to resolve the easy ones immediately without needing a response from the state agency," Mr. Tuan Anh suggested.

Concluding the meeting, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee Do Thanh Binh requested that the steering committee for implementing Resolution 57 of the Politburo be reorganized this week, so that it can undertake all the tasks in the content of this resolution. He said that "If Can Tho wants to implement Resolution 57 well, it must do this first."

Mr. Binh also believes that a virtual assistant connecting the government and the people is very necessary. "For example, what are the procedures for issuing a new red book, how to adjust changes in land transactions, this is very good. In addition, there needs to be data analysis, socio-economic assessment, forecasting the world and domestic situation... This is very good information for leadership and management," Mr. Binh said.

Mr. Binh assigned the Department of Science and Technology to coordinate with the GenAI Fund Investment Fund, and at the same time advise on developing a specific plan next week to report to the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee for comments to "finalize and do it immediately because it is very urgent".
