Can Tho removes bottlenecks to become the country's growth pole

On the afternoon of September 22, the Can Tho City Party Committee held a press conference on the organization of the 1st Congress of Can Tho City Party Committee, term 2025-2030. Can Tho strives to be the growth pole of the country by 2030.

At the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tam - Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Can Tho City - said that the 1st Congress of Can Tho City Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030 will take place in 3 days, from September 26 to September 28 at the Hall of Can Tho City Military Command.

The Congress has 485 official delegates, representing over 141,000 party members of 109 Party Committees under the Can Tho City Party Committee.

Regarding personnel work, the congress will not elect members, but the Politburo and the Central Secretariat will appoint the Party Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, the City Party Committee's Inspection Committee for the 2025-2030 term and the delegation to attend the 14th National Congress of the Party.

Up to now, the preparations for the Congress have been basically completed, ensuring thoughtfulness, solemnity, economy, safety and efficiency. In particular, the application of information technology has been promoted in many important stages: managing and publishing electronic documents, registering and calling attendance of delegates, conducting a number of working sessions via the electronic system...

“This congress sets out 28 targets. Of which, there are 8 economic targets; 7 social targets; 4 environmental targets…

The city has identified three breakthroughs to focus on removing bottlenecks, overcoming limitations, promoting rapid and sustainable development, including: Breakthrough in developing high-quality human resources, science, technology, innovation and international cooperation; Investing in synchronous development of socio-economic infrastructure, especially transportation, digital infrastructure and logistics; and Innovating thinking, perfecting policy mechanisms, improving the investment environment, and strongly developing the private economy.

This is an important basis for mobilizing combined strength, exploiting potential and advantages, and realizing the goal of building Can Tho into a dynamic center and a growth pole of the country," Mr. Tam emphasized.
