Warning of fake page of Cuban People's Campaign

The Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee warns of the appearance of fake Facebook programs to support the Cuban people.

Recently, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society warned people to be vigilant against fake Facebook pages that take advantage of the campaign to support the Cuban people for personal gain.

According to the update until 12:00 noon on August 16, 2025, the campaign to support the Cuban people "65 years of Vietnam - Cuba friendship" has recorded a donation of nearly 250 billion VND. The program is within the framework of "Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Year 2025", commemorating the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1960-2025), aiming to support the Cuban people with food, necessities and sustainable humanitarian activities. This is also a message to international friends: "Vietnam is always by Cuba's side, as Cuba is always by Vietnam's side".

However, a fake Facebook page has appeared, using the name of the Vietnam Red Cross and the program to support the Cuban people to cut and paste images, transforming them into fraudulent activities to profit through fake links:

The Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee affirms that it did not coordinate the organization of the Walk/Run to raise funds for the Cuban people as posted on this Facebook page. People should be vigilant and not transfer money or provide personal information to accounts, links or phone numbers that are not officially announced.

When suspecting that information sites have signs of fraud, it is necessary to verify the information on the official channels of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, and at the same time notify the authorities and the Vietnam Red Cross Society.

All information on the program's activities and donation account numbers are announced by the Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee, the Red Cross Societies of provinces and cities on the fanpage, official website and reliable press channels.
