Afterwards, the Ministry of Education and Training will also hold an information conference of the National Steering Committee for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam and the score distribution analysis team.
According to the previous plan, the 2025 high school graduation exam scores will be announced at 8:00 a.m. on July 16. After knowing the scores, candidates can calculate their 2025 high school graduation scores.
Graduation recognition scores from 2025 include the scores of the subjects the candidate takes the exam (accounting for 50%); the average score (GPA) of the years of study at high school level (accounting for 50%) and priority points and incentive points, if any.
The formula for calculating graduation recognition scores in 2025 is as follows:
Candidates who are eligible to take the exam, have not had their exam results revoked, all exam subjects score above 1 point (on a 10-point scale) and have a graduation score of 5 points or higher will be recognized as high school graduates.
According to the plan, the Departments of Education and Training and high schools will complete the recognition of high school graduation by July 18 at the latest.
Departments of Education and Training will announce high school graduation results no later than July 20.
Units will print and send exam result certificates to candidates no later than July 22.
The collection of appeal applications and the preparation of the appeal list will take place from July 16 to July 25. The organization of the exam appeal (if any) will be completed no later than August 3.
In 2025, 1,165,289 candidates registered to take the high school graduation exam, an increase of 93,894 compared to 2024 (1,071,395 candidates). Of which, 97.71% (1,138,579 students) took the exam under the 2018 general education program; 2.29% (26,711 students) under the 2006 general education program.
The 2025 high school graduation exam will take place on June 26 and 27 with more than 1.16 million candidates. Of these, nearly 1.14 million will take the exam under the new general education program (2018) and more than 26,700 will take the old program (2006).
Candidates under the new program will take two compulsory subjects: Literature and Mathematics, and two elective subjects from the following subjects: Chemistry, Physics, Biology, History, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Agricultural Technology, Industrial Technology, and Foreign Languages (7 languages).
Candidates following the old program take the Literature, Math, Foreign Language tests and the optional Natural Science (Chemistry, Physics, Biology) or Social Science (History, Geography, Civic Education) test.
University benchmark scores will be announced before 5:00 p.m. on August 22.
