Although he passed 2 universities, due to his family's difficult circumstances and his love for pets, Mr. Nguyen Van Ben (Duyen Hai ward, Lao Cai city) chose to study pet health care at Lao Cai College. Currently, he has 2 reputable pet care and accessories and food service establishments in the city, with an average income of 30 million VND/month. He also supports and creates jobs for many veterinary students after graduation.

Mr. Nguyen Van Ben confided: My wish is to continue to improve the system of facilities, equipment and create more jobs for students after graduation to work with me.

After 3 years of studying at Lao Cai High School for the Gifted, she was ranked as excellent, achieved national excellent student and was directly admitted to the National Economics University and Hanoi University of Commerce, but Ma Thi Quynh Nga decided to apply to study at Lao Cai College, which surprised many friends and neighbors. Before getting the high school graduation exam results, Quynh Nga spent time researching universities, colleges and job opportunities after graduation in the majors and training professions. After researching and receiving advice from her family, Ma Thi Quynh Nga chose to study at the Faculty of Pharmacy (Lao Cai College).

“The time to study pharmacy at college level is only 3 years, tuition is reduced by 50%. The school also cooperates with many companies and businesses to give students the opportunity to study and work after graduation, so I decided to study pharmacy at Lao Cai College,” Quynh Nga confided.

Similar to Quynh Nga, Trieu Ong Nhat (Van Ban district), who had a good academic record in high school, also shared that it did not take him too long to decide to study auto technology, because this is a profession that he has been passionate about and loved for a long time. Thanks to his determination and hard work in studying and improving his knowledge, after studying at the Center for Vocational Education - Continuing Education of Van Ban district, Trieu Ong Nhat has now become a technical staff of NISSAN Vinh Phuc Company, with a salary of 12 million VND/month.

Trieu Ong Nhat confided: I researched and thought very carefully, and saw that many people did not go to university but if they tried hard, they could still be successful. In fact, after graduating from college with a major in automotive technology, I easily found a job with a decent income.

In fact, if trained properly and professionally, in accordance with the needs of businesses, college and secondary school graduates will have job opportunities and a great chance of success. Therefore, in recent times, communication and mobilization work to help people understand the benefits of vocational training has been actively implemented by vocational training units in the province, promoting cooperation with businesses to solve employment for students, many interns have also earned income, thereby creating trust for families and students when choosing to study a profession.

Mr. Dinh Van Tho, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, said that nowadays, vocational skills are considered an important requirement of the labor market, so there have been many changes in social awareness about the importance and value of labor skills. That shows that university is not the only way for learners to develop themselves. Improving the skills of workers also means improving the quality of the labor force, meeting the needs of the economy in the trend of international integration.
