Male student with broken nasal bone
On the morning of February 19, sharing with Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Nguyen Van Cu - 57 years old, father of Nguyen Quang Sang, the person whose nose was broken by an assault that caused a stir on social networks - said that the family had transferred Sang from Vinh City General Hospital to Military Hospital 4 for further treatment. The CT scan results showed that Sang had a fracture of the main nasal bone.
Sang's mental state is now more stable. It is expected that Sang will be able to return to school in the next few days. Mr. Cu's family is also cooperating with the police to take Sang's statement to serve the investigation.
Mr. Pham Xuan Chung - principal of Vinh University High School for the Gifted - said that the school went to the hospital to visit and encourage the student who was beaten, hoping that he will soon recover and return to school.
Regarding the incident, according to investigation, the woman appearing in the clip stopping the man from beating Sang is Ms. Pham Phuong Thao, 32 years old, residing in Quang Trung ward, Vinh city.
Ms. Thao said she worked as a parking attendant in front of the central park gate of Vinh city, opposite Vinh city General Hospital. At around 5:00 p.m. on February 18, a person drove a car to park at the parking lot and then walked across the street, possibly colliding with a male student wearing a delivery man's shirt while waiting at a red light.
Ms. Thao was parking nearby and immediately ran to stop it.

"When I saw the male student being beaten, I ran to stop him but it was too late. At that time, the more I tried to pull the man away, the more he kept punching him. After a while, I was able to pull him onto the sidewalk and he calmed down," Ms. Thao recounted.
Ms. Thao also confirmed that she is not an acquaintance, not the wife or girlfriend of the man who beat the male student as false information shared on social networks.
Through this incident, Ms. Thao also hopes that everyone will be calmer and not let a small collision on the street affect themselves and others.
Increase penalties to deter
Many Tuoi Tre Online readers expressed their outrage at this act of violence and asked the authorities to intervene to verify and handle it promptly.
Ana shared: "Every day, social media has clips of people being beaten. Because the punishment is not enough of a deterrent, it has not been reduced. We propose to increase the punishment and add monetary compensation to the victims to hope to reduce the number of cases."

Sharing the same opinion, Tien Do said that in recent months, for some reason, there have been many thugs who beat others over just a slight collision, even though many cases have been prosecuted and tried.
"Perhaps the propaganda is not enough. Usually, when an incident occurs, the press reports it heavily, but then it fades away. Not many people know whether there will be a prosecution, how the trial will be conducted, what the sentence will be... So there is no deterrent effect, the thugs have nothing to be afraid of," Tien Do wondered.
Raising the issue of the increasing number of brutal assaults on others due to traffic accidents, all due to the thug's disregard for the law, Rayluan suggested that a case of assault due to a traffic accident like this should be brought to trial quickly with a heavy prison sentence as a deterrent.
As reported by Tuoi Tre Online , on the afternoon of February 18, Nguyen Quang Sang - 17 years old, residing in Quang Trung ward, Vinh city - stopped at a red light and collided with Dang Thai Hoang - 30 years old - when Hoang was walking across the street.
A video clip of the incident shared on social media shows Hoang using his hands and feet to punch and kick Sang. The male student did not have time to react and could only cover his face to avoid the blows.
That same evening, Vinh City Police invited Hoang to the headquarters to work and take his statement.
