Most recently, on July 4, the Co To District Interdisciplinary Inspection Team inspected the water recreation activities at Hong Van tourist beach (Dong Tien commune). Through the inspection, they discovered 3 cases of Mr. Pham Van Dong, Pham Thanh Tung and Ngo Van Manh operating jet skis towing banana floats to transport passengers at the beach without a license. The inspection team drew up a record and suspended the operation, requesting the vehicles to be brought to the District Police headquarters to coordinate with the handling according to regulations.

Previously, at this beach, there were cases of some organizations and individuals arbitrarily organizing jet skis, banana floats, kayaks... to operate without ensuring compliance with regulations. Among them, there was an incident where a jet ski exploded while preparing to tow a group of tourists sitting on a banana float, fortunately causing no human casualties.

Similarly, in early June, Co To district received and handled information reflecting the dissatisfaction of tourists about the quality of service when staying at a homestay in Zone 2, Co To town, on the fanpage Co To review - Co To island travel experience. In the post, tourists reflected that the service provided was not as initially agreed, the service attitude was unprofessional and did not receive a satisfactory solution from the homestay owner. The district established an interdisciplinary team to quickly take action, verifying that the tourists' reflection was completely grounded. The team imposed an administrative penalty and at the same time required the above facility to commit to immediately correct the shortcomings and improve the quality of service in the future.

We always pay attention to information to receive, grasp and commit to strictly handle violations, ensuring the rights of tourists when traveling to Co To.

Accordingly, to enhance the effectiveness of the healthy tourism environment, Co To district has established an interdisciplinary inspection team for state management of tourism in the area, issued operating regulations, and assigned specific tasks. At the same time, the district also maintains a good hotline, directly receiving feedback from tourists 24/24h. Department leaders and the district People's Committee also regularly participate in social networks and tourism groups to proactively receive information, monitor activities, quality of tourism services, and feedback from tourists.

To restore the tourism business environment and thoroughly control illegal tours, in early June, Co To district issued a document directing specialized agencies and functional forces to strengthen management, inspect and handle illegal fishing and night squid tours, illegal island tours; underwater entertainment activities and spontaneous tours that do not comply with regulations.

With those moves, in the first 6 months of 2024, the district's interdisciplinary inspection team organized 10 inspections and fined over 20 million VND for administrative violations. In July alone, the peak tourist month, the district's authorities conducted 7 inspections, made records and advised the District People's Committee to issue decisions to fine 7 cases, including 6 cases of jet skiing business at Van Chay and Hong Van beaches with a total fine of 45 million VND; satisfactorily resolved 3 cases of tourists' complaints via the hotline about inappropriate behavior...

Promote new products

Building a healthy tourism business environment, Co To is also very interested in introducing new products to serve tourists. "The drastic correction of violations also creates conditions to consolidate and encourage the development of strong tourism products in accordance with regulations, promote new tourism products, and increase the attractiveness of Co To tourism" - Mr. Nguyen Hai Linh added.

In the near future, tourists can experience hot air balloon flights over Co To sea.
