Meal for students at Mr. Ha's family

According to the reporter's investigation, the family with the above kind heart is the couple Nguyen Van Ha (37 years old) and Ha Thi Thuy (31 years old). Every year, there are 2 exams for grade 10 and high school graduation held near his house and this is the third consecutive year that Mr. Ha's family has maintained the support of free accommodation for students during exam season.

The mountainous district of Tan Son covers an area of nearly 690km², comprising 17 communes, but has only two public high schools, Tan Son and Minh Dai. Therefore, many students have to travel 20-30km to school from home, often having to stay in rented accommodation or hire a bus to take them there every day.

During exam season, parents are busy worrying about food and accommodation for their children, especially for families who work in the fields and have limited finances .

Understanding the hardships of parents and students, Mr. Ha and his wife decided to help the children. To prepare well for the children to rest, have a comfortable mentality to do well on the test, before the exam day, the family also cleaned the house clean and tidy. Early in the morning, the couple went to the market together, bought food and cooked a simple meal for the children.

“I have a house, a kitchen, I can cook a few more meals, prepare a few more mats for the children to rest on, it's not too difficult,” said Mr. Ha.

Mr. Ha shared that his family is not well-off, but every time he sees parents and students carrying backpacks to find a place to stay for their children to take exams, he remembers his own experience of taking exams, so he discussed with his wife about helping the children. “With little money, much heart, helping the children have a clean, cool place to stay, creating a comfortable mindset for them to go into the exam,” Mr. Ha shared.

So every exam season, their house becomes a stop for students and parents. “After each exam, seeing the children in a relaxed state, eating delicious meals, I feel happy. That pure image makes me want to contribute a small part to help the children overcome the important exam of their life, to confidently step into life and build the future,” Mr. Ha confided.

When asked about the cost, Mr. Ha smiled and said: “If I help the children today, others will help my children in the future. My wife and I’s daily business also helps the children have a few delicious meals. Just live kindly with each other, and everything will come to us.”

Ms. Tran Thi Tam, a parent who took her child to the exam, said that her house was nearly 20km from the exam site. It had been raining heavily these past few days, and she was afraid that the roads would be eroded, so she took her child to the exam site a day in advance to find a place to stay. Luckily, she met Mr. Ha, who let them stay and cooked delicious meals for everyone.

"Mr. Ha's family welcomed us very warmly. In particular, he and his wife cooked delicious meals and arranged a clean and comfortable place to stay, helping the children have good spirits for the exams. We thank the family!", Ms. Tam shared.
