Pursuant to the Official Dispatch No. 7644 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the General Director of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) requested all power and transmission units in the Northern region to continue to proactively respond to storm No. 3, minimizing possible damage from rain and floods. To ensure operations and safety for people and property, Phu Tho Electricity Company has proactively implemented solutions to respond to storm No. 3.

Yagi is the third storm of 2024, with the highest intensity in the past 10 years, complex developments and causing a high level of natural disaster risk. Since the morning of September 5, storm No. 3 has strengthened into a super storm, the strongest wind near the storm center is level 16, gusting over level 17, the storm is likely to cause strong winds, rising water, large waves at sea and coastal areas, strong winds and heavy rain over a large area on land, high risk of landslides, flash floods in mountainous areas, localized flooding in urban areas and low-lying areas, along rivers and streams...
To be proactive in flood and storm prevention, Phu Tho Power Company (PC Phu Tho) has directed its affiliated units to urgently deploy synchronous solutions according to the 4-on-the-spot principle. The units ensure on-duty natural disaster prevention and search and rescue when storms affect the Northern region; review, inspect, and immediately handle vulnerable points on the power grid that are at risk of causing incidents.
Cut down and clear trees inside and outside the power grid safety corridor; review and have plans to ensure power supply for drainage pumping stations and important loads such as: Provincial Party Committee headquarters, Provincial People's Committee, People's Committees of districts, cities, towns, Radio and Television Stations, Hospitals, schools...; prepare adequate human resources, means, materials and equipment to quickly fix problems and promptly restore power supply to customers.

Comrade Pham Van Chuc - Deputy Director of Phu Tho Power Company said: "PC Phu Tho has thoroughly instructed all officers and employees to fully implement measures to ensure absolute safety during the process of checking and fixing power grid problems when working in heavy rain and strong winds; especially pay attention to ensuring safety when crossing rivers or flooded areas; closely coordinate with local authorities and media agencies to organize propaganda on preventing electrical accidents among residents under the influence of storms such as: falling electric poles, broken electric wires, electric leakage...".
Units need to strengthen their vigilance against flash floods, landslides that affect the power grid and assets (especially the duty stations and operating houses); coordinate with units managing pumping stations to ensure continuous power supply to pumping stations in flooded areas in the area during floods; check all power lines crossing or running along rivers and streams in low-lying areas at risk of flooding equipment and power grid lines... to promptly detect risks and have timely handling plans.
Coordinate with the authorities and people in localities to cut and completely clear trees inside and outside the corridor that pose a risk of causing problems to the power grid, while promoting information and propaganda work to disseminate electrical safety to people and workers, and the efforts of the electricity industry during the rainy and stormy season; ensure good maintenance of the communication system and transmission lines...
PC Phu Tho also ensures close coordination with the Customer Service Center to update information on the impact of natural disasters on the power supply situation to promptly respond to customers. Timely report the damage situation and the results of overcoming the consequences of natural disasters on the website of natural disaster prevention and search and rescue.
To minimize the impacts caused by storms, the Company has also directed and thoroughly informed all employees to strictly implement safety measures when working in stormy conditions; the process of handling and overcoming incidents requires full preparation of means, materials, and human resources; unit leaders must be directly present at the scene to command at the scene...
