Saving the life of a foreign man with a critical heart attack

On December 31, information from Hung Vuong General Hospital ( Phu Tho ) said that recently, doctors from the hospital's Cardiology Department successfully treated a foreign patient who was admitted to the hospital in critical condition.

Specifically, Mr. NK (53 years old, Indian nationality) had a history of smoking cigarettes and tobacco for many years. The patient was brought to the hospital in a state of severe chest pain, cardiogenic shock, severe drop in blood pressure (70/40 mmHg), and slow heart rate (50 beats/minute). The initial diagnosis was: Cardiogenic shock - Acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction.

In particular, percutaneous coronary angiography images showed extremely serious damage on the 3 main arterial trunks: RCA artery 99% narrowed; PDA completely occluded; LAD 95% narrowed, LCx chronically occluded.

Doctors said the patient was in life-threatening condition if not treated promptly.

Faced with the critical situation, the doctors immediately activated the "ultimate plan". That is, using vasopressors to raise the free-falling blood pressure; placing a temporary pacemaker to keep the heart rate stable; and immediately performing coronary intervention using advanced technology, deploying 3 stents to cover all dangerous lesions.

In a short time, the intervention was successful. When the stent was finally placed, the patient's heart returned to a normal rhythm.

After the intervention, the patient was more alert, blood pressure was stable, and chest pain was significantly reduced. After 5 days of treatment, the patient's health recovered and he was discharged from the hospital.
