Russian President Vladimir Putin chaired a meeting of the Federal Security Council on June 28. Speaking here, Mr. Putin mentioned that Russia should restart the production of medium- and shorter-range missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads. According to the leader, Russia has pledged not to deploy these missiles, but the US has restarted production and sent them to Denmark and the Philippines, so Moscow must also respond. Former US President Donald Trump (left) and current President Joe Biden participated in the first debate on June 27, ahead of the November election.
