The Literature exam is full of current events with the theme "Every homeland's sky is the Fatherland's sky"

The first candidate taking the exam at Hon Gai High School leaving the exam site was cheered and enthusiastically supported by young volunteers.

The test material is an excerpt from the short story "Different Skies" by writer Nguyen Minh Chau, revolving around a conversation between two soldiers, Le and Son - who come from two different hometowns, and fought together during the resistance war against the US. From the material, the test requires candidates to write an argumentative paragraph with the topic: "The sky of any homeland is the sky of the Fatherland" - a topical topic in the context of Vietnam restructuring its apparatus according to a 2-level government model, merging many provinces, cities and localities. The test requires higher requirements for candidates' skills in analyzing text and independent thinking, and skills in grasping current issues.

Student Bui Phuong Anh, Hon Gai High School, shared: According to the orientation of the new program, this year's exam questions are more open. Thanks to this broad and practical direction, I feel more comfortable in expressing my thoughts. I am especially pleased with the questions because they evoke love for the homeland and country, while reminding the younger generation to be aware of preserving the core traditional values of the nation and linking them to current issues. I chose the C00 combination of the Social Science block, and I am confident that my Literature exam will score 7 points or higher.

Teachers and parents asked candidates about the Literature exam.

Right after finishing the exam, most candidates commented that this year's exam was new, the topics were broad but within their ability. The necessary knowledge and skills had been thoroughly reviewed by teachers. If you study seriously and diligently according to the teacher's instructions, you can absolutely get a good score.

Do Thi Hoai, a candidate taking the exam at Hon Gai High School, shared: For the 120-minute Literature exam, I spent the first 10-15 minutes reading the questions, 45 minutes doing the reading comprehension part, and the remaining time I did the writing part to complete all the required sections.

Many candidates left the exam room in a happy and relaxed mood because they did relatively well on their exam.

Nguyen Ngoc Thang, meanwhile, appeared optimistic and happy after completing the Literature exam. Thang shared: The questions were rich and open, creating conditions for me to express my personal views. I focused on my love for my homeland and country and related it to my responsibility in protecting the Fatherland.

Candidates took the opportunity to discuss their work with each other after finishing the exam.

According to teacher Nguyen Thi Bich Dan, Literature teacher at Ha Long Specialized High School, this year's Literature exam is a very good exam and helps to fully develop all students' abilities.

Ms. Dan shared: First of all, the exam questions are completely within the framework of knowledge and skills of the 2018 General Education Program, which students have studied and practiced; at the same time, they also follow the sample exam structure of the Ministry of Education and Training . The special and interesting point of this year's exam is that the text is an excerpt from the work "Different Skylands" by writer Nguyen Minh Chau. This can be considered an immortal work on the theme of love for the homeland and country by one of the typical writers and has an important influence on Vietnamese literature during the resistance period and the early period of the renovation process. Therefore, the text will help students maximize their capacity in all skills: reading, understanding and writing; at the same time, it will open up many ideas to develop the social argument writing section, especially in the context of the country standing on the threshold of a new era of development.

Parents welcome their children after the candidates completed the Literature exam - the first subject of the 2025 High School Graduation Exam.

The first exam session on the morning of June 26 took place in favorable weather conditions, creating a comfortable atmosphere for candidates and their parents. The organization of the exam was ensured to be thoughtful, safe and in accordance with regulations.

According to a quick report from the Examination Council of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Ninh province, the Literature exam on the morning of June 26 had 19,771 candidates out of a total of 19,930 registered candidates, the exam attendance rate was 99.20%. There were 159 absent candidates , not participating in the exam, of which 62 candidates were exempted from the exam, 57 candidates were sick and did not take the exam and 40 candidates dropped out. No candidates or individuals participating in the organization of the exam violated the exam regulations.
