Admission score to Hanoi Medical University is expected to increase, block C could be from 28 points?

At the 2024 University and College Admissions Consulting Day, Associate Professor, Dr. Le Dinh Tung - Head of Training Department, Hanoi Medical University - has just made predictions about this year's benchmark scores.

Is the standard score for block C to enter Hanoi Medical University over 28 points?

According to Mr. Tung, based on the school's online and direct admissions consulting process, although this is the first year of admissions and training, psychology is attracting a lot of candidates, especially candidates participating in the admissions for block C (literature, history, geography) and D01 (math, literature, English).

Previously, Hanoi Medical University announced the list of 178 candidates admitted directly to regular university in 2024.

In the field of psychology alone, 20 candidates were admitted directly with first and second prizes in the national excellent student exam. Of these, 19 candidates won prizes in literature, history, and geography; 1 candidate was admitted directly with English.

According to Mr. Tung, in reality, the admission confirmation rate for direct admission candidates is about 75% of the announced list. Therefore, the minimum number of remaining admission quotas is about 40 - 45 based on the results of the high school graduation exam for the three groups B00, C00, D01.

"This year, the C00 and D01 groups have higher high school graduation exam scores than last year. Although this is the first year of enrolling psychology students, we predict that the admission score will be quite high. Last year, the admission score for psychology at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi was 28 points for group C.

With the low quota, we predict that the benchmark score for psychology at Hanoi Medical University will be high compared to other schools that are training in this field," said Mr. Tung.

Medical, dental - maxillofacial benchmark increased

According to Mr. Tung, this year, the B00 group has 311 candidates who scored 28.5 points or more (not including priority and incentive points). From this number, the school predicts that the admission benchmark for top majors such as medicine and dentistry will increase compared to last year's benchmark, increasing at a moderate level.

"The highest benchmark score for the medical industry was 29.25 points in 2017, and the lowest was in 2018 when it dropped to 24.7 points. By 2021, it was 28.85 points. This year's benchmark score will be closer to the years with high exam scores.

In addition, this year the percentage of candidates achieving a graduation score of 19-22 in the B00 combination is lower than last year, but the absolute number is higher. The threshold score of 22-22.5 this year is the same as last year, but the absolute number is higher. Therefore, the benchmark scores for the remaining majors may also increase compared to last year," said Mr. Tung.

In 2024, Hanoi Medical University will enroll 1,720 students (an increase of 350 students compared to last year). This year, the school will enroll three new majors, including midwifery, dental prosthetics, and psychology.

In addition to the main admission group B00 (math, chemistry, biology), this year for the first time the school considers admission groups C00, D01, and the results of the Hanoi National University's capacity assessment exam for university admission.

The tuition fee for the 2024-2025 school year announced by the school is expected to range from 15 to 55.2 million VND/year.
