Congratulatory message from General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping reads:

“I am very pleased to receive the news that you have been elected to the position of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam. On behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and on my own behalf, I would like to send you my warm congratulations.

In recent years, the Communist Party of Vietnam has thoroughly implemented the spirit of the 13th National Congress Resolution, deeply promoted the Party building work, and achieved new achievements in promoting the construction of socialism and the cause of reform and opening up. We believe that, under the steadfast leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the entire Party and the entire Vietnamese people will successfully implement the goals and tasks set forth by the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, firmly promote the preparation work for the 14th National Congress, and continuously strive towards the "two 100-year goals" of the founding of the Party and the founding of the country.

China and Vietnam are socialist neighbors with mountains and rivers connected by a belt of friendship.
