Specifically, the total area of ​​forests and forestry land under the province's three types of forest planning is nearly 349 thousand hectares, accounting for about 27% of the total natural area. Of which, special-use forests are more than 135 thousand hectares, production forests are more than 132 thousand hectares, the rest are protective forests, with a forest cover rate of more than 25%.

Forests in the province are characterized by many rare species of animals and plants with high conservation value. Notable areas are: Cat Tien National Park, Bu Gia Map National Park, Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve...

In recent years, thanks to the attention paid to forest management and protection in the former Binh Phuoc and former Dong Nai provinces, the forest area and forest cover ratio have been maintained. There have been no major violations that have seriously affected forest resources. Many projects, plans, and schemes for exploiting values ​​associated with protecting forest resources have been issued and effectively implemented.
