The prestigious men's tennis world team tournament Laver Cup 2025 will start from September 19 to September 21 at Chase Center, San Francisco (USA). This is the 8th time the event has been held since 2017, bringing intense competitions between the European team and the world team.
This year’s tournament lacked some of its appeal, with both Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner not participating. The world’s two top stars needed time to rest and recover before the tournaments in China at the end of September.

World number one Carlos Alcaraz will join Alexander Zverev, Holger Rune, Casper Ruud, young talent Jakub Mensik and Flavio Cobolli in the European squad.
The world team brought a very strong lineup with Taylor Fritz, Alex de Minaur, Francisco Cerundolo, Joao Fonseca, Alex Michelsen and the famous player with the thunderous serve Reilly Opelka.
Coach Yannick Noah (France) replaced the legendary Bjorn Borg to lead the European team while coach Andre Agassi (USA) succeeded John McEnroe to lead the tennis players in the world team.
The Laver Cup was launched in 2017 and has been held in Prague, Chicago, Geneva, Boston, London, Vancouver and Berlin. In 2024 in Berlin, the European team won a thrilling 13-11 victory over the world team.
The highlight of the title race was Alcaraz beating Fritz in the deciding match. It was Europe's first title in three years, ending the world team's 2022-2023 dominance.
The tournament lasts for 3 days with a total of 12 matches (4 matches per day) and the points increase day by day. Each win on September 19 counts for 1 point, a win on September 20 counts for 2 points and a win on September 21 counts for 3 points. The team that reaches 13 points first will win the cup, and the two teams that tie after 12 matches will have a decisive doubles match.
