The National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Society's survey delegation worked with Dong Kinh ward, Lang Son province.

On the afternoon of September 9, 2025, the survey delegation of the Culture and Social Affairs Committee of the 15th National Assembly, headed by Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Thuy - Deputy Head of the delegation, had a working session with the People's Committee of Dong Kinh Ward on the implementation of policies and laws on domestic violence prevention and control in the period from July 1, 2023 to July 1, 2025. Participating in the survey delegation were Chu Thi Hong Thai, National Assembly delegate of Lang Son province; representatives of the Government Office, representatives of the Department of Grassroots Culture, Family and Library. Receiving and working with the delegation were representatives of the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Justice, Health, Home Affairs, Education and Training, Finance and leaders of the People's Committee of Dong Kinh Ward.

Dong Kinh Ward, Lang Son Province was established on the basis of merging the natural area and population of 04 commune-level administrative units including: Vinh Trai Ward, Dong Kinh Ward, Mai Pha Commune of Lang Son City and Yen Trach Commune of Cao Loc District, Lang Son Province. During the period from July 1, 2023 to July 1, 2025, the ward issued documents directing the implementation of family work and prevention and control of domestic violence, focusing on promoting propaganda activities to raise public awareness of the role of the family and education on family ethics and lifestyle. The content and form of propaganda are implemented in many diverse forms.

The whole ward has over 95% of households achieving the title of cultural family; 100% of blocks achieving the title of cultural; 100% of residential areas building and implementing village covenants, cultural lifestyle conventions and achieving a rate of 100% of grassroots Party organizations, departments, units, and unions being disseminated and updated with information on domestic violence prevention and control, gender equality...; 40 mediation teams were established in 40 blocks with over 200 mediators. 40 trusted addresses were built in the community, which are temporary shelters for victims of domestic violence.

However, besides the achieved results, the implementation of domestic violence prevention and control work in the Ward still has limitations such as: Propaganda work to promote advanced models is not regular; human resources for family work, domestic violence prevention and control are limited; there are no specialized family staff but mainly part-time; the collection and processing of information on family and domestic violence prevention and control is not really accurate.

At the working session, members of the survey delegation of the Committee for Culture and Society, the 15th National Assembly and leaders of departments, branches and the People's Committee of Dong Kinh ward discussed and clarified further contents related to the implementation of policies and laws on preventing and combating domestic violence.

Concluding the working session, Comrade Nguyen Thi Kim Thuy - Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Social Affairs acknowledged the efforts of Dong Kinh ward in deploying and implementing policies and laws on preventing and combating domestic violence in the ward.

At the same time, it is recommended that the People's Committee of Dong Kinh Ward absorb the opinions of the members of the Survey Team to complete the report; strengthen propaganda and education work, focusing on the subjects and contents; continue to effectively implement the work of preventing domestic violence, focusing on prevention, fully identifying acts of domestic violence; maintain and replicate models of preventing domestic violence, reliable addresses, and temporary shelters in the area.
