Iran's Tasnim news agency quoted a source as saying the country was preparing to respond to Israel's actions. "There is no doubt that Israel will face a proportionate response for any action it takes," the source said.

Meanwhile, The Washington Post quoted a source briefed on Israel's military planning as saying that Tel Aviv's attack was expected to last for several hours and that among the targeted military sites were air defense systems and missile factories.

Israel retaliates against Iran, US says no involvement

US and Israeli officials told Axios reporters that Israel's attack took place in three waves, with the first targeting air defense systems, the second and third focusing on bases and missile and drone production sites.
