Travel during National Day holiday 9/2: Diverse destinations

This year's National Day holiday on September 2nd lasts for 4 consecutive days, including 2 weekend days and 2 official National Day holidays. The number of tourists to Thai Nguyen is forecast to increase, so at this time, the units participating in tourism activities have taken the initiative in terms of facilities, human resources and necessary conditions to serve tourists.

Nui Coc Lake - a destination chosen by many tourists.

With nearly 1,200 historical and cultural relics, scenic spots; about 700 intangible cultural heritages and many unique tourism products, Thai Nguyen has become an attractive destination on the Vietnamese tourism map.

With impressive destinations associated with the country's history, notably: Special National Monuments (including ATK Dinh Hoa and the old Cho Don), Nui Coc Lake, Ba Be Lake; impressive destinations: Suoi Coc Homestay; Hao Huc village (both in Dai Phuc commune); Ba Be National Park with Dau Dang waterfall, Nang Tien cave, Kim Hy Nature Reserve... becoming an address for tourists to choose during the holidays of the year, especially on the occasion of September 2 this year.

According to Mr. Nguyen Chu Thu, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism: In order to ensure the safety of the holiday, the Department has promptly issued a document requesting relevant levels and sectors to actively coordinate, ensuring the safety of tourists in terms of security, order, food safety and hygiene; not allowing the phenomenon of "overcharging" to occur, affecting the reputation of Thai Nguyen tourism. Tourism business units have also prepared quite thoroughly in terms of technical facilities and services to welcome and serve tourists.

Currently, the provincial authorities and functional units have also developed plans to serve tourists safely, such as: Strengthening inspection and quality control of tourism service providers; detected violations of the law on tourism business, environmental protection, and food safety and hygiene will be handled.

Regarding facilities serving guests: The whole province currently has 785 tourist accommodation establishments, including 9 3-star hotels; 7 2-star hotels; 3 1-star hotels; 73 hotels meeting the minimum conditions to serve guests; 521 tourist motels, more than 120 houses with rooms for tourists to rent; over 100 restaurants with large capacity, many high-quality restaurants with capacity to serve groups of 1,000 guests at the same time.

Talking to us, Mr. Do Trong Hiep, Executive Committee Member of Vietnam Tourism Association, Chairman of Thai Nguyen Tourism Association said: To best serve tourists, member units of the Association proactively invest in upgrading facilities, creating a green, clean, beautiful, fresh environment, ensuring "Pleased to welcome guests".

Especially on this occasion, the Association organized a number of propaganda and promotion activities about the potential and strengths of Thai Nguyen tourism to the people and tourists, including organizing tours for tourists to visit some beautiful natural landscapes; historical relics, and cruises on Ba Be Lake.

The highlight is in the evenings (from August 29 to September 2), at Bo Lu bridge, Bo Lu village, Ba Be commune, a campfire night is organized with activities such as: Enjoying cuisine with the flavor of the Viet Bac mountains and forests, visiting booths displaying local products, cultural exchanges...

All motorboats serving tourists at Ba Be Lake are quality inspected according to regulations.

Most businesses in the province, destinations, and tourist souvenir shops have committed to publicly and fully listing prices of goods and ancillary services, and selling goods at the listed prices. Since the beginning of August, tourist accommodation establishments have planned to welcome and serve tourists.

Hotels and motels have invested in replacing old items such as blankets, sheets, pillows, and mattresses; installing free wifi systems; and "training" the reception and service style of the staff. Some businesses have hot bonuses in case the service staff has excellent achievements. To attract tourists, many businesses offer preferential service discounts of 10 to 20% on the total listed price.

Currently, many tourist accommodation establishments have closed room reservations for groups of guests; some culinary service establishments also have large reservations for tables.

Mr. Nguyen Tung Lam, Head of Tourism Management Department (Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism) commented: In the context of merging Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan provinces, many new tourism products have been created. This is the reason why the number of visitors to Thai Nguyen will increase compared to the same period in previous years.
