Bringing AI and virtual classroom technology into English teaching

According to VietNamNet sources, startup Vuihoc is preparing for a strategic investment in The IELTS Workshop - a system of English training facilities. The investment amount has not been disclosed.

Founded in 2019, Vuihoc is an online education platform that provides learning products, covering many different levels of education. Investing in an English training system marks a new shift of this startup in applying new technologies to educational activities.

Currently, the Vietnamese EdTech startup has integrated “AI native tutors” into its training program, accompanying learners in practicing English. Therefore, the addition of The IELTS Workshop’s proven experience in training IETLTS is expected to create different and high-quality English training programs compared to similar “AI tutor” products on the market.

“ The strategic investment cooperation in The IELTS Workshop will help combine Vuihoc's strengths in technology and AI with the experience and programs from The IELTS Workshop ,” added Vuihoc CEO Do Ngoc Lam.

With Vuihoc's IELTS learning product, this AI tutor will score, comment and correct errors in the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing for users. In addition, students will increase their learning efficiency many times over by practicing with the virtual Speaking - Writing room. This is a virtual technology space that helps learners practice both skills and courage to prepare for the real exam.

Previously, in April 2024, Vuihoc was the only representative of Southeast Asia to be named in the ranking of “Rising Stars” in the world EdTech market in 2024 by TIME magazine (USA). After 5 years of development, this EdTech has more than 300,000 students studying and more than 2,500,000 application downloads.

Doing AI costs a lot of money In Vietnam, comprehensive AI solutions are deployed mainly in large corporations, banks and financial companies, because this is a very expensive field.
