Specifically, the international railway (Gia Lam - Nanning) will resume operations from September 30, and the North-South railway will resume operations as of October 1. Western trains ( Hanoi - Lao Cai) will resume operations as of tonight (October 2). Only the SP8 train (Hanoi - Lao Cai) will temporarily stop running on October 2.
According to updated statistics from Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR), during the recent flood, the Railway industry transported 11 trains, carrying nearly 1,500 passengers from Thanh Hoa station to Truong Lam station and vice versa, and served more than 3,400 free snacks (breakfast) and nearly 4,400 main meals to passengers on affected trains.
For trains that have stopped running, the Railway Transport Joint Stock Company directly notifies passengers via SMS, Zalo system, social media, website, etc. so that passengers can grasp the information.
The Railway Transport Joint Stock Company returns train tickets to passengers free of charge. Passengers with train tickets must go to the railway station to return their train tickets. The time for returning tickets at the station is no more than 30 days from the date of departure stated on the ticket.
