The “Vietnam Smile” photo contest was launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association, for high school students and students of universities, academies and colleges nationwide. The contest took place from August 6 to 20, attracting 5,142 entries, more than 87,000 votes and reaching over 382,000 users.
As a result, the Organizing Committee selected 13 outstanding works to award prizes, including: 1 first prize, 1 second prize, 1 third prize and 10 consolation prizes. The works were carefully selected by the Jury and received positive votes from the community.
The work “Going to school with you” by author Tran Phuc Toan (4th year student, Faculty of Cinema - Television, University of Theatre and Cinema , Ho Chi Minh City) won third prize. The photo was taken by Toan during a volunteer trip to Hra Primary School No. 2 (Hra commune, Gia Lai province), depicting the innocent smiles and excitement of the children when receiving learning gifts before the new school year.
The winning works will be displayed at the Independence Festival - 80 Years of Vietnamese Pride taking place at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square (Hanoi) from August 30 to September 2, 2025, organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association in coordination with the People's Committee and the Department of Culture - Sports of Hanoi City.
