| Taekwondo recorded the large participation of children's athletes. |
The Taekwondo event had 427 athletes from 20 units competing in 88 events. On the evening of August 22, the athletes competed in the men's individual and women's individual events in the age groups of 11 and under, 12-14 years old and 15-17 years old.
This year's tournament recorded the participation of a large number of athletes in the youth age group. Some units and clubs have a large number of participating athletes such as: Korea Taekwondo Jungdokwan Vietnam Co., Ltd. (68 athletes) Song Cong ward (48 athletes), Thai Hai Sport Co., Ltd. (40 athletes), Mang Non Taekwondo Club (40 athletes)...

In the first competition, the Organizing Committee has determined the medal winners. In the individual female category for the age group of 11 and under, the Gold Medal went to athlete Tran Quynh Chi (Quyet Thang Ward); the Silver Medal went to athlete Vu Bao Tram (Thai Hai Sport Company Limited); the Bronze Medal went to athlete Le Anh Huyen (Quyet Thang Ward) and Nguyen Phuong Tam (Mang Non Taekwondo Club).
In the men's individual freestyle category, age group 12-14, athlete Hoang Tuan Hung (Quyet Thang ward) won the Gold Medal; athlete Vu Khoi Nguyen (Quyet Thang ward) won the Silver Medal; athlete Doan The Thien (Korea Taekwondo Jungdokwan Vietnam Co., Ltd.) and Luu Duy Nghia (Thai Hai Sport Co., Ltd.) won the Bronze Medal.
