Hanoi collects 3,530 billion VND from tourists during Tet holiday

(NLDO)- During the 9 days of Lunar New Year holiday, Hanoi welcomed about 1 million tourists , with total revenue of 3,530 billion VND.

Hanoi Department of Tourism said that during the 9-day Tet holiday (from January 25 to February 2, 2025, from December 26 of the year of the Dragon to January 5 of the year of the Snake), it is estimated that the capital city of Hanoi will welcome about 1 million tourists, an increase of 6% over the same period last year.

Of which, the number of international visitors to Hanoi this time was 142,000, an increase of 15.8% over the same period last year, mainly from the markets of China, Korea, Taiwan (China), the US, the UK, Malaysia, India, Germany, France, Japan... Domestic tourists were 859,000, an increase of 5% over the same period last year.

Total revenue from tourists is estimated at 3,530 billion VND, up 7.85% over the same period last year.

Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang assessed this result as coming from the careful preparation of tourism areas, spots and businesses.

Since the days before Tet, tourist areas and attractions have focused on upgrading the quality of tourism services, launching many new tourism programs and products as well as organizing cultural activities and art performances from the New Year through the Lunar New Year 2025 to stimulate demand and attract tourists to visit and experience.

During the Lunar New Year holiday this year, many exciting and attractive events took place in the city, attracting tourists to visit and experience.

Activities and events that lasted throughout the Lunar New Year allowed visitors to the capital to experience the traditional Tet atmosphere of the Northern Delta region, such as: the program "Vietnamese Village Tet 2025" at Mong Phu Communal House Space - Ancient Village Tourist Destination in Duong Lam (Son Tay town); the program to welcome Tet at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village (Dong Mo, Son Tay town) with the theme "Spring in the Village"; the program "Colors of Spring At Ty 2025" at Hoan Kiem Lake Cultural Information Center; the program "Vietnamese Tet - Street Tet 2025" in the Old Quarter; displaying traditional Tet space at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Site

During and after the Lunar New Year, tourist areas and attractions continue to organize vibrant and attractive cultural and artistic activities to attract tourists such as fireworks displays, New Year's Eve art performances at Hoan Kiem Lake, My Dinh National Stadium; New Year 2025 performances at Ngoc Son Temple, the stage in front of the "Determined to Die for the Fatherland" monument, Lac Long Quan flower garden (Tay Ho district); Van Quan lake (Ha Dong district)...

In addition, localities have carefully prepared and are ready to organize major festivals at the beginning of the year such as: Festival commemorating the 236th anniversary of the Ngoc Hoi - Dong Da victory (Dong Da district), Huong Pagoda Festival (My Duc district), Giong Festival at Soc Temple (Soc Son district), Co Loa Festival (Dong Anh district), Hai Ba Trung Temple Festival (Me Linh district), Tan Vien Son Thanh Festival (Ba Vi district)...

In addition, to promote tourism activities from the beginning of the year, the Hanoi Department of Tourism will coordinate with the People's Committee of Hai Ba Trung District to organize the program "Hanoi Tourism Welcomes 2025" at the Hai Ba Trung Temple, Pagoda and Communal House National Monument and the 2025 Friendship Spring Tour program in Me Linh District. These are two activities to promote, advertise and stimulate tourism to kick off the capital's tourism industry in 2025.
