Surpassing many delegations attending the festival from provinces and cities across the country, the Ha Tinh Library staff delegation won second prize at the 2023 national library staff festival.
The 2023 National Festival of Library Staff to promote reading culture and introduce books on Vietnam's sea and island sovereignty, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, will take place from August 8 to August 11, 2023.
The festival gathered 30 delegations with nearly 700 contestants representing over 10,000 people working in libraries and culture from 63 provinces, cities, libraries, and armed forces nationwide.
Ha Tinh Library Delegation chose the book "Vietnam's Sea and Islands in the Heart of the Fatherland" by author Manh Hung for the book introduction contest.
With the theme “Vietnam - Country on the shore”, the festival aims to promote and disseminate documents, books and newspapers about the position, role and sovereignty of Vietnam's seas and islands. Thereby, contributing to raising awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors and people, especially the young generation, about the strategic position and role of seas, islands and borders and territories in socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security; arousing love for the homeland and country, national pride, awareness of protecting sovereignty and territorial integrity; aspiration to contribute, build and develop a prosperous and happy country.

The delegation of Ha Tinh Library staff attending the festival included 22 contestants who are officers and employees working in the industry. The delegation chose the form of dramatization to perform 4 compulsory competitions of the festival including: introducing the team; introducing books; introducing an experience initiative in improving the effectiveness of propaganda work on books, newspapers, and documents on Vietnam's sea and island sovereignty, or introducing an effective model of serving books, newspapers, and documents, developing a reading culture for people in the local sea and island areas and the talent competition.
The delegation chose the book "Vietnam's Sea and Islands in the Heart of the Fatherland" by author Manh Hung to introduce and chose to perform the Nghe Tinh folk song suite "Song of the Sea and Islands and Homeland" with lyrics by Nguyen Tien Khoi for the talent competition.
As a result, the Ha Tinh Library delegation won second prize in a set of prizes including: 5 special prizes, 8 first prizes, 8 second prizes and 9 third prizes.
