On August 15, Quang Binh Friendship Hospital (in Dong Hoi Ward, Quang Tri Province) said that doctors there had just activated the internal red alert to provide emergency care for two workers who were electrocuted to the point of cardiac and respiratory arrest at a construction site near the hospital.

The two workers include a 38-year-old man residing in Gio Linh commune and a 51-year-old man residing in Hoan Lao commune, Quang Tri province.

Previously, late afternoon on August 14, two workers were constructing a project near Quang Binh Friendship Hospital when they were suddenly electrocuted and knocked unconscious.

Upon receiving the information, Quang Binh Friendship Hospital activated the internal red alert and sent medical staff and equipment to the scene.

When the doctors arrived, both men were unconscious, with multiple electrical burns, and one of them had signs of cardiac arrest and respiratory arrest. Doctors quickly performed CPR on the scene.

Both were taken to the emergency room at Quang Binh Friendship Hospital.

Doctors continued to urgently perform advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation, electric shock, ventilation support via Ambu bag, vasopressor drugs, and coordinated with many specialties to treat injuries caused by electrical burns.

After about 15 minutes of emergency treatment, the patient's pulse returned and blood pressure improved. After the critical stage, these two patients were transferred to the Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Hospital in Dong Hoi for further monitoring and intensive treatment.
