Beautiful action at the zero-dong market

(NLDO) – When it was her turn to receive a Tet gift, a female student from the University of Finance and Marketing was unexpectedly absent. Her actions afterward moved everyone.

On January 18, the University of Finance and Marketing coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Student Support Center to organize a 0-VND Market for people in difficult circumstances at Dang Thuy Tram Primary School (District 7).

At the program, hundreds of people comfortably shopped for Tet with 15 booths selling clothes, food, children's toys, books, free haircuts, etc.

In addition, the program also gave 60 Tet gifts to students and families in difficult circumstances.

Many people came to participate in the Zero-Dong Market program.

It was her turn to receive a Tet gift, but Vo Huynh Hieu Kien, a student majoring in international business at the University of Finance and Marketing, "disappeared". The organizers called her name many times but she was nowhere to be seen, even though Kien had taken attendance early.

At the end of the program, Kien, sweating profusely, ran into the school yard. Everyone was surprised to learn the reason for the female student's involuntary absence.

Not caring about her gift, female student Kien "scored points" with her beautiful action.

Another student enthusiastically advised people on choosing clothes to wear for Tet.

Kien said that when he saw an old lady struggling with a large Tet gift, he helped her carry the basket to the school gate. However, he still felt uneasy letting her go home alone, so he called her son to pick her up.

"Even though I knew it was almost my turn to receive the gift, I couldn't bear to leave my grandmother waiting alone in front of the school gate. It was close to Tet, there were many dangers, and this area was crowded with people. Only when my grandmother was safely in my son's car did I return to the schoolyard" - Kien confided.

The female student said that her family was also in difficult circumstances, but Kien still felt lucky. That is why Kien signed up to volunteer for some charity activities.

Students support people to receive Tet gifts and meaningful zero-dong stalls

Receiving the Tet gift, Mrs. Lam Thi Ngoc Thu emotionally said: "My family has 5 people, my son is the main breadwinner so it is very difficult. For many years, the whole family has not bought anything to celebrate Tet. Receiving this gift, I am happy because I can celebrate Tet early."

Ms. Tran Viet Anh, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tan Thuan Tay Ward, District 7, said that organizing programs to care for people in difficult circumstances is very meaningful. Through practical activities, students can improve their skills, life experiences, and have a more profound and humane view of things around them.
