Revealing CP Vietnam's revenue after the pork scandal

A report from Charoen Pokphand Foods - the parent company of CP Vietnam - shows the revenue of this "giant" in the Vietnamese market in the second quarter and the first 6 months of this year.

Specifically, according to the report, Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF) recorded total global revenue of 291.77 billion baht (equivalent to nearly 8.8 billion USD or more than 236,000 billion VND). Net profit reached 18.92 billion baht (equivalent to 0.58 billion USD or 15,330 billion VND).

Of which, Vietnam is the second largest market, only after CP's "homeland" Thailand with revenue of 26.17 billion baht (approximately 21,200 billion VND).

Although the proportion is still high, it is noteworthy that revenue in the Vietnamese market in the second quarter decreased by 21% compared to the same period last year.

Vietnam was also the only place to record a decline, while revenue in Thailand and China both increased in the second quarter.

In the first half of 2025, CPF recorded revenue of 53.8 billion baht (equivalent to more than 43,570 billion VND) in Vietnam, down 15% over the same period last year.

The Thai "big guy" has not mentioned the reason for the decrease in revenue in Vietnam.

However, in the first 6 months of this year, there are some factors that are speculated to have the potential to impact CP's business results in Vietnam. For example, the exchange rate from the beginning of 2025 to mid-year shows that the Thai baht has increased by about 9% compared to VND.

In addition, a notable event related to CP Vietnam in the second quarter was Mr. LQN's reflection on social networks that some of this company's stores mixed sick pigs and sick chickens.

Afterwards, the Soc Trang Provincial Police Investigation Agency also received a crime report with the following content: On May 30, on the social network of the account "Jonny Lieu", information was posted about a complaint of violations of food safety laws.

The incident took place in May. In July 2025, the Soc Trang Provincial Police Investigation Agency decided not to prosecute the criminal case against Mr. LQN, whose permanent address is in Soc Trang.

The reason, according to the investigation agency, is that the behavior does not show signs of the crime of "violating food safety regulations" as prescribed in Clause 2, Article 157 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

After the above decision, the representative of CP Vietnam spoke up to once again affirm the transparency, seriousness and rule of law in all production and business activities of CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company.

Recently, the man who "accused" selling sick pigs was summoned to work, related to the accusation that he abused democratic freedoms to infringe on the interests of Vietnam Joint Stock Company.
